Electrical problem
1988 Dodge Daytona 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

JUST BOUGHT.
1988 DAYTONA SHELBY / 2.2 with INTER COOLED TURBO.
Some previous owner has added.(AFTER MARKET)
(Max enginneering multi-cal) to computer.
Engine runs till it reaches 4 grand, then
everything shuts off?

Please help.

Call him and ask about getting it back to original control system. If that is not possible have it looked at by an electronic engine technician. Or a dealer should be able to get you back in running shape. There are many other things that could be wrong with a 21 year old 4 cylinder turbo. Even Chrysler would not try to warranty it as it was, trying to get more horsepower may have damaged the engine, but I hope not.
Biggest problem was replacement parts. And that was in 1990. You may get lucky now though.

The limiter, normally, was not much more than 4000. It was around 5700 on any 4 cylinder, maybe this has kept the pistons together with the bottom of the engine, and is good. You may get plenty more use out of it. Good luck with it.
