Engine Performance problem
2005 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I just purchased this 2005 Dodge Dakota PU with 7100 miles. In checking the gas mileage I find that I am getting around 10 miles to the gallon city driving. I thought it should be around 13 to 15 miles per gallon. What should I look for, or what should I do.
Other than this problem, the truck is perfect.
Thank you for your help and advice.

Matt:

Fuel economy is based on driving habbits and conditions. I agree, 10MPG is really bad, but it could be just because the vehicle hasn't been used much. If it's running fine, use it for awhile and see if it improves. If it doesn't you may want to check the air filter or have the computer scanned to see if there are any trouble codes.
