I have a problem with my pickut when it is excelerating. When it reaches about 1000 rpms it wants to die and starts chugging and I have to throttle the gas pedal to keep it going. Once over 1000 rpm it seems to run fine.

I live in ND and it is below zero here and this is when the problem occurs. In the morning I let it run for about 20 minutes before I go anywhere.

What could be causing this problem? I would like to check it out myself before taking it to a mechanic.
Please give me some suggestions on what I can look at.

It could be a few things. Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Any vacuum leaks? Have you checked for trouble codes?

Let me know. IF you need directions for checking codes let me know. You don't need any tools or scanners to do it on this vehicle.
