1995 Dodge Colt coolant gauge

I have a 1995 doge colt gauge was only moving up to the cold mark and move back and forth. Thought maybe thermastate was bad it appeared to be when I took it out. I replaced the thermastate now the temp gauge does not move at all and check engine light came on I am getting heat the engine is a 1.5 I thinking maybe temp sensor

Yes, chances are it is the temp sensor. If you are getting good heat, you know the gauge is wrong.
