Diesel fuel was accidently put in my gas fuel tank. The car was driven about 2 miles when it shut off on its own.

Is there a way for me to get the remaining diesel fuel out of the tank, and save my engine?

What type and cost for repairs am I looking at?

Hi:
This won't ruin the engine, but it does need removed. You can disconnect the fuel filter and get the fuel flowing by turning the key. The fuel pump will start, so be careful, it will shoot out. Also, disconnect the fuel rails and blow out the fuel from that direction and make sure to replace the fuel filter. Once you have it all out and now fuel, it should run again.

Let me know if you have other questions.
