The rear brake drums on my 2003 caravan are extremely stubborn and I can't get them off to replace the shoes. There is some corrosion, but the problem lies with accessing the adjuster. We have tried a flat head screwdriver and a brake tool with no success. It appears that there is just not enough room behind the brakes to maneuver the tool or screwdriver in at the right angle. Is there another way or another tool available?

Thank you.

I use a small flat screwdriver, and a pick to hold the adjusting lever away from the starwheel.

I also found after you get the Shoes backed off a little that there are two small screw holes in the drum it's self that when you screw a screw into it pushed the drum off the hub. I can't remember the size of the screws I used but it worked great.
Good luck.
