About two weeks ago, the fan/blower for the AC/heater started acting up. Now, when I turn the fan on for the heater (or A/C), it will only work when I am driving (not in idle). In addition, it only works on the highest blower setting (the lower 3 setting don't seem to blow out any air).

Now that the weather is turning colder here in MN, I'm worried it won't defrost the windows properly (or at all) before I need to start driving.

Is there an easy fix to this I can do myself or does it need to be brought in?

Do you have an estimate of how much it would cost to have fixed?

Thank you for your help!

Most blowers have a series of resistors for lower fan speeds, so they may be faulty. I'll see if I can find out where they are.

At least on earlier Plymouth Voyagers, which may be similar to yours, the resistor block was in the upper left corner of the firewall, as you're looking at it from the front of the car, facing toward the rear.

It could be a bad switch or in my case it turned out to be the blower motor that caused the problem in the first place
