2000 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
2000 Dodge Caravan starts and runs fine put it in gear and it dies, had a trouble for an EGR valve put on a new EGR valve cleared the code and still same problem any ideas

Check the torque convertor clutch solenoid.

How would I check that I can not find that in my book and yes the Check Engine Light is on but I do not have a scanner but will go get one soon and find out what code has been set

The light was on for the TPS but I had been testing that cleared the code now I have no codes but it still stalls when put in gear

You can go ahead and clean the egr valve as this is a possibility, but I also need to know what size engine is your vehicle? 3.0, 3.3, or 3.8. Also the vehicle need to be scanned, it will make it sooo much easier.

I repaced the EGR valve and cleard all the codes but still have the problem that it stalls when I put it in gear, it dose sound like it maybe the torque convertor clutch solenoid but I dont know how to test it or where it is on the transmission. It has the 3.3L V6 with the G vin for the engine.

Well its coming up as transmission control solenoid and all it says is its located on the transmission, its a plug obviously, and there are three or four. It says this vehicle doesnt have a torque convertor clutch solenoid, they are control solenoids. It would really help if we could get this thing scanned again
