My dodge caravan has 120000 miles from time to time when it is colder or damp out the car will start, run for about 10 seconds and shuts off, it does this about 8 times and then nothing, all lights come on, but it just doesn't crank at all. What can be the problem?

Hi:

It sounds like you may have a couple problems. First, it sounds like the starter may be going bad. If you have power to the lights, the starter should work unless there is a bad ground or corroded wire. Check the neg. Battery terminal to make sure it has a good connection to both the engine and the body.

As far as running, does it do this every time it is cold or wet outside?

Joe

The starter is new, it rained yesterday and it won't start today, light and everything on, turn key and nothing.
