1997 Dodge Caravan running lights

I was pulled over the other night and given a warning ticket for not having any "running lights." All other lights are ok. How do I fix this problem. I admit to being a female that know nothing about her car except where the gas and oil goes so be very specific. My dad is willing to help if you can advise me thank you.
