1990 Dodge Caravan maintenance light

The light is indicating that the computer has detected a problem. Try this. DON'T start the engine. With the key off, cycle the key from off to on 3 times. The 3rd time, let it in the run position. Let me know if the light begins to flash. Also, if you disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes, it should reset it, but if there is a problem, it should come back on. Finally, If the light flashes, it is identifying trouble codes. Count the number of flashes. The codes are 2 digit numbers. It will flash, slight delay, then start again to identify the 2nd number of the code. It will end with a 55.
