Car cuts off

I have a 1999 dodge avenger V6 145,000 miles. When I start off my car goes slow not unless I press on the gas hard. When I take off from a light and have to stop suddenly it will cut off if I don't hit the gas pedal quick. When I back up it sometimes cuts off and I smell burnt oil. I had a tune up done then the fuel filter was change because the mechanic said it was stopped up. And also he found the rotor button from the tune up was broke. But the car still cuts off and also when I make a turn it will cut off if I don't press the gas pedal quick.

You might try "cracking" the throttle a tiny hair the next time it doesn't start to see if that helps. Possible sticking IAC valve (known Ford problem).
