Does it need to be adjusted or with a scan tool? I know the older style GM ones from the 1980's and 1990's had to be adjusted by hand. If it's a scan tool I will not be able to do it. So please let me know.

Good afternoon,

The sensor is a plug and play. There is no adjustment at all.

Why are you replacing it? Do you have a code? If you do, what is the code?

Good afternoon,

I attached a picture for you. It is number 2 in the picture. It is on the throttle body itself. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I had got a diagnostic reading on my car to figure out the problem on my car its said the tps sensor so i went to my local auto parts store ordered the tps for my car and now i am trying to replace this part. Everything i have searched tells me the tps i am looking for should be on top of the engine or near the throttle body. I have taken the throttle body off thinking maybe it was located near or of sight but i am still not finding its location. Please help :) I seen on multiple cars the location on several different types of cars and trucks but on my aveo i can not find it.

Hello,

The throttle position sensor is inside the throttle actuator do you mean throttle pedal position sensor that is located at the gas pedal pivot. Here are guides and diagrams below to help explain what you are looking for.

I have a 2008 Chevy Aveo, and I recently changed the throttle body per the OBD code (throttle body position sensor bad). Since then, the cruise control will not operate. Are the 2 problems related? I have a bad feeling that I replaced a part with a non-capable piece.

yes they are related. if it is the one that belgons for the car it may be just a fuse has blown on the cruise or a relay is bad. check that first.

On my Aveo it looks like the throttle position sensor has a plastic cover over it with metal tabs. Is that what I would have to remove to replace the sensor? Is it easy to remove without having to remove the whole assembly the sensor is on?

Just to jump in and see if I can help. I am attaching the location views of where this sensor is on this engine.

We don't show a plastic cover over it but that is possible as the manuals are normally not that detailed.

Please see the info below and if you can get some pictures of what you are looking at, that will help us determine the best way to remove it if this doesn't give you what you need.

Thanks
