DFP light on

My DFP light keeps coming on. I have cleared it a couple of times on the motorway.

It has come on again and now will not go passed seventy mph.

I was supposed to have my call in for the emissions recall ages ago. Does this have anything to do with it?

What can I do to clear it without VW charging me a fortune?

I would take it in, get the recall done and have them test the DPF to see if it is plugged or is reporting wrong. There isn't much that can be done without a VAG scan tool to actually see what the system is doing. From the description it sounds like the filter is plugged. If so there are machines that can clean them but not many places have them.

Would it have something to do with the emissions recall? They are saying they won't do the recall with lights on the dash and the dpf light is on. Thanks for coming back to me btw

They have to do a recall regardless of a light being on. If they refuse call VW and complain.

I would call VW, tell them what you have and also ask if this issue might be covered under warranty. Check the owners manual or online with your location to see what is covered and for how long. That can vary depending on location.

If the outstanding recall is the one for the false emissions control software they were caught with, it is possible that effected the DPF.
