Hello Sir,
This is Samuel from India.I own a Daewoo Matiz and the model is as mentioned above.
Problems:
1)Transmission:
Most of the time the 2nd and the reverse gear do not engage easily and requires me to do a lot of extra attempts and efforts.
And recently while driving in top speed a few days ago, the engine knocked over and over like an earthquake within itself, all of a sudden and stopped. It later would start in neutral, but would not move forward and began quaking again when I tried applying the gears.I was shocked and felt absolutely helpless, since at that point I was traveling on a narrow bridge.
However after sometime I managed driving the car back home. It did start moving, but I had to apply the clutch fully and also fully apply the accelerator upto its max and it required me to drive the car constantly at a high speed to keep the engine running.

2)Air Conditioning:
Sir, my car Ac doesn't do anything. When I switch the Ac button on, the engine just squeals loudly and shuts down.

So, these are the 2 major problems my car has. Hence, I request you to kindly provide me your expert solutions for the same. Hope you would help me in this regard.

Thank You,
Samuel,
Karnataka State,
India.

Check that the clutch is ok, check that the gear selector cables are ok and that each gear is actually being selected and look at the A/C compressor as it may be seized and causing a problem when the system is engaged, as the compressor is isolated by a clutch attached to the front of the compressor with it off the clutch idles over and the compressor is not engaged.
