cv boot axle

My husband accidently nicked cv boot front right. Grease everywhere. N e way he bought thw whole cv boot axle to replace, but we need an idea on what tools r needed and
how do we replace it, thanks

the brakes and wheel bearing need to come off on that side and you need to unbolt the axle then pull the strut out of the way. then pull axle and revers for reassy. You might go to a mechanic and see if he can replace jus the boot and reload with grease. it may be cheaper than the axle that he has already bought.
