I recently changed the r CV axles on both sides and after about a week I noticed some play and a wobble on my driver side. Took off the wheel and it looks like the axle where it goes into the transmission is bout a inch to inch and a half from sitting completely into it. Do I need to take it off and redo it? And it's now leaking transmission fluid. Also same car I had my power steering pump replaced and they broke the power steering switch in half while doing it not telling me. I noticed a leak coming from it and replaced it and the harness because the way it broke the old one wont come out of the harness. It's still leaking and still whining what can I look at or do? Can I just tap it back in with a hammer? And is this where the oil seal is at or is it where the oil filter is at? My manual is confusing on all this as it doesn't show a lot of detail.

This is two different problems so please start a new thread for the power steering issue. It sounds like the CV axle was not fully seated in the transaxle which will allow the axle to walk outward which will ruin the seal. You will need to remove the CV axle and replace the seal. This video shows the job being done on a similar car but the process is the same. I have included the instructions to replace the seal in the diagrams below.

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Is it called the CV axle seal or the oil seal? Because my Haynes repair manual only refers to a oil seal. I will upload pics shortly and add to this. Also, mine is not an awd it's a 2wd or fwd, but it is the sport luxury version if that matters any.

Oil seal and axle seal are the same thing. 2wd and 4wd will be the same procedure. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response.
