Shut off while driving, the engine cranks but does not start?

I drove 5 miles on a very rough compacted bumpy gravel road that rattled the organs inside my body enough to make me feel like it was doing damage to my older truck, and then it shut off halfway into the 5-mile road. Eventually it started up after banging the gas take area, but it kept shutting off and we ended up coasting 20 miles home, that part was “Awesome”! After that, replaced the fuel filter and it started right up and 2 miles down it shut off on a bridge I coasted and stopped a while it started up and got me up the street, I had to park it and take a bus home. I had it towed to a shop and they replaced the fuel pump and I never thought it is the pump but they called me and said it’s ready to go pick it up and I got there and the mechanic was being towed in with my truck because it stopped working and he couldn’t get it started while he was test driving it. It has not been on the road for two years now. Please help me. I got this truck so I can get my aging disabling Sheppard around and I am desperately needing it now more than ever. I recently tried to start it and it turns over but dies immediately. Oh, and there is no fuel pressure. I think it’s always been a ground wiring issue but what do I know?

Hi,

Are you able to hear the fuel pump run at all? If not and it's new, then we need to check power supplies and the circuit open relay.

I attached two pics below. The first one shows the ignition fuse (7.5 amp) which powers the EFI injection. Confirm that fuse is good and has power to and from it.

If that is good, I need you to check the blue wire going to the fuel pump to see if there is power. The power comes from the ECM to the circuit open relay and then to the pump. If there is no power, remove the relay and see if there is a different one having the same part number. If there is, switch them to see if it makes a difference. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test a relay:

After I pressed send we crawled under and found the blue wire and it does have power when I tried to turned the key and tried to start it.

I just want to tell you I don’t have power to the Delphi fuel pump, but I just picked up a Senso because that’s what should be in this truck anyway and it’s a place to start. The open circuit relay seems to work and now we are trying to track a blue wire and test the relay and it’s started raining and it’s getting dark. I will have someone over to install fuel pump. ECM has a black with yellow tracer on it and white wire with a black tracer. Wire to the fuel pump is a mystery and we hope to have the answer asap! Thank you for hanging with me.

Hi,

The blue wire is the power supply to the pump. If you have power at the wire but not at the pump, the wire must have an open within it. Are you able to trace the wire to see where power is lost?

Hi, it turned out the fuel pump the shop put in was not a cheapo and it was not working, so I replaced the fuel pump with a Denso. Thanks for all your help.
