This noise is normally caused by electrical interference that the radio or speakers are picking up.

So, when you say the noise is there when the engine is on or off, does that mean that they crackle when the key is in the off position, or do you have the key on but the engine off? So, in other words, the radio has to be on for the noise to be there?

Do they crackle with the radio turned off but the key in the ACC or on position with the engine off?

The noise that you are hearing is an electrical pulse that the wiring or speakers are picking up and it displays it as what it thinks the noise should sound like. Basically, that is all a speaker does is turn an electrical pulse to an audio signal.

So, what I would do is start with unplugging each speaker one at a time to see if any of them cause the noise to stop. Clearly you will need to plug it back in because if you unplug all of them you won't know if the noise stops. Also, you may find out that the noise is only coming out of one or two of the speakers. This is important info.

The other way is to check this is to find out which speakers are getting voltage when they are off.

Once we narrow it down to which speakers, we will be able to figure out the next steps.

Thanks

The key is in the acc position with the engine off. The noise is still there. I will check the speakers one by one. I will let you know what happens. Do you think it could be the radio? Thank you

That is what we are going to narrow down. If it does it with the engine not running then yes, more than likely this is the radio that is causing the issue.

However, we could have a feedback issue so let's go with this process and then we can decide based on the results. Thanks for the update.

It is the radio. Where can I find a radio for the vehicle listed above? With CD player and casset player. Thank you

Now you are pushing it with your requests. :)

Clearly kidding but that is not going to be easy as they are not produced anymore, as I am sure you are aware.

So that leaves, salvage yards or the route that I would go with is aftermarket.

There are going to be a lot of different kits out there that will work on this vehicle.

So let me know what direction you are wanting to go, and I am happy to help look for some kits. However, the salvage route is going to be dependent on what is available in your area or on the internet.
