It depends on how much the part is but I see it is around $500.00 and what their door rate it. However, it does seem a little high because I show it is about 1.5-2 hours in labor (just to test and replace). So if they are charging you for flushing the transmission and fluid it may be a little higher but even if they have a door rate of $150.00 per hour it wouldn't be $1,500.00.
I would suggest they give you a breakdown of the estimate just so you can see what they are charging you for. Most shops will do that so if they didn't provide it I would request it.
So if the part is around $500.00 and labor is around $300.00, then extra parts and shop fee are around $200.00 (way over estimated) it would still only come to $1,000.00.
Again, $1,500.00 may be responsible depending on what is included so we really need to get a breakdown and go from there.
