If the thermostat is leaking, chances are it just needs resealed. As far as other vehicles compatibility with your vehicle, you would have to actually look at them to confirm they are the same. It seems like everyone of them are different in some way.
Now, can you tell me where it is leaking from? Is it the hose, where the housing mounts, or is the housing cracked? Also, when you installed the new thermostat, was the housing and where it mounted clean and dry? Are you sure the thermostat was properly positioned prior to installing the housing? Was the gasket/o-ring in good condition?

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for replacement. Read through them to confirm you did everything it shows. The attached pictures correlate with these directions.

PROCEDURES
Removal
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Disconnect the thermostat hoses.
3. Remove the thermostat cover.
1 Remove the three bolts.
2 Remove the cover.
4. Remove the thermostat.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Refill the cooling system.
