Transmission is not shifting

Transmission will not shift gears in my automatic transmission.
It is a Pt cruiser.

Check fluid level if you can then have a transmission specialist scan for codes. Also, have governor checked may be bad or a valve body problem.

As HMAC300 stated, scan the vehicle for codes. With the mileage you have you could have a faulty PCM. Had to do one on my wife's PT Cruiser. If it is the PCM I recommend you just get it from the dealer and have someone program it that can do it. I got a rebuilt one two years ago and this week already getting a fault code again for faulty processor for the transmission control. Let us know how it goes.

If you can get some body to check and see what the codes are. If it wont shift it may be in limp mode. There were issues with the input and output sensors and there connectors. If it is an issue with the output sensor your speedometer wont read.
