Absolutely, it does. It could be the viscosity is incorrect, the wrong type of oil, or excessive dirt. Any of the aforementioned conditions can create a problem with the multi-displacement system (MDS). The MDS is designed to deactivate certain cylinders when power isn't needed. As a result, it improves efficiency.
