Let's start with codes.
If the oil light is coming on, that is just because the oil pressure is dropping. This could be due to exceptionally low RPM's or a greater issue.
If you can't pull codes then just run by a parts store and they should be able to pull it free of charge. I imagine we will have some codes but if not, we can do more investigation. However, if we have a code it will cut this down considerably and we can get right into testing and following the diagram for that code.
