Climate control issues

My climate control went bust a little while ago, my heat dial and fan speed dial work perfectly fine, my heated seats will sometimes work, other times I have to click the passenger one to enable the driver side one, I can live with that but the real issue that I need to address is that my defrost and the dial to control where the air goes aren't working at all, any idea where to start?

Hi, I'm Dan. First off, is this a manual HVAC control system? Meaning you don't have any digital read out, correct? If it's a manual system, then the doors for where the air blows to is controlled by a cable connected to the knob you turn.

See the attached file. I would start by removing that panel in the picture to see if you can see anything broken in there.
