After car has warmed up A/C blows warm to hot air

My climate control seems to blow warm/hot air after the car is warmed up and it sometimes seems like the air intake is restricted. The A/C compressor works and cycles on and off but does not blow cold air. Even in the vent position with the temperature set to 60 degrees, warm air comes out of the vents.

Thank you.

Good evening,

This sounds like the fresh air door is stuck open. The actuator is right behind the glove box.

I attached the pictures and the procedure is below for this procedure.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I do know that the fresh air door does open and close at times but this does not change the amount of air flowing out of the vents.

I believe there could be something wrong with the blend door also (I don't know if this affects overall air flow). I performed the EATC Hard Self-Test and fault numbers #24 came up (blend door short or fault) and #16 (which I was not able to find the description for this code).

The other symptom I have is warm air comes in from the vents when the engine has been warmed, temperature is set to 60 degrees, and outside temperature is below 60. I can't get cool outside air when it is cool outside (not in A/C mode).

I do know that the fresh air door will change position (I believe to the recirculate position) when the fan speed is set to high. This occurs even in the vent or floor settings which I believe should not be recirculating at these settings. Could this happen if the fan is trying to move a large amount of air and there is a restriction of getting air from the outside source forcing the fresh air door to change it's position? I know this model does not have an air filter for the inside cabin.

Okay, the volume issue could be either a blower motor issue with the cage on the end or a leak in the duct work in the vent system.

As far as the warm air, there is a blend door motor on the A/C unit. It is at the top of the dash requiring the dash board to be remove to access it. That is a common failure for this and the code you got from the A/C control head.

I attached the procedure below and pictures for you as well.
