My wife was having problems starting her car. There was no clicking noises it just occasionally would not start. I removed the battery positive first then ground and cleaned the posts and terminals and reconnected the battery ground first then positive. Starting issue is resolved, but now I have the check engine light on and the dreaded red lightning bolt. The car idles at about 1300 rpm's now and is stuck in limp mode. Engine runs rough in drive or reverse. I have driven it up and down our neighborhood and it has been idling for about three hours. I was hoping that like my vehicle the computer need to relearn all it engine settings and I know it takes some time. How long before these lights go off after reconnecting the battery?
