I bought a 99 T&C last August and just got it back on the road.
It would lose the instrument lights, etc as you described. And also seemed like after 3 failed start/stalls. The alarm system would lock me out.
But I would lose the instruments while driving. Took it to two Chrysler shops. Hooked it up to their system monitors. Etc. It would randomly come back and never act up when the shop had it. I had decided it was possessed.
My brother and I did a lot of reading online and decided to order a new cluster that goes into the dash. Took it to Chrysler shop to have them recalibrate it to set the mileage etc back.
I just drove it from Charlotte to Massachusetts this week.
No problems. No loss of instruments.
This van left me stranded more times than I can count the first week I had it. And has been sitting since last August.
It made the trip great. No troubles. Seems the problem is solved.
Also had another side issue thinking the alarm system was draining on the battery. It was draining frequently. It now has a battery buddy too.
It was a phantom problem that no one could fix.
The internet was a great resource for getting to the bottom of the problem. This van is known for this problem. Although Chrysler will disagree and not acknowledge it!
It was $345 for the cluster and $104 for the shop to recalibrate it.
