I have a 2000, V-6, 2 door Chrysler sebring convertible, 123,000 miles and it is making a loud squealing noise after traveling anywhere from 3 to 5 miles. It stops when the car stops. It seems to be coming from the front driver side, but sometimes sounds like it is coming from the opposite side depending which side of the car the curb is on. It seems to get louder if i am driving next to a vehicle and when I am passing another vehicle. I am wondering if this sounds like a belt or wheel bearings? When driving in neutral and giving the car gas I do not really hear the belt slipping or anything. Turning the wheel while driving has no affect, neither does braking. It only stops when the car stops completely and will make the sound going any speed over 10 MPH. It is really loud and embarrasing : ) Please help me if you can. Thank you.

You may be hearing the brake pad sensor. IT rubs and makes what you are describing, just before the pad completely wears out. Don't put this off.
