Tires and Wheels problem
2006 Chrysler LHS 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My son was involved in an incident where he changed lanes on the interstate and the driver in the lane he was moving into said she had to go into the median to miss him. There was no contact and no apprent damage to her vehicle, but she's claimed that she had her front end aligned and all 4 tires balanced as a result. I'm probably going to help her with the bill, but I was wondering about the validity of the tire balancing. Am I splitting hairs or does having all tires balanced seem unrelated to an incident like this.

When a cars front end or all 4 wheels are aligned, it is best for the best tires to be used for the driving end(front). I would tell her that your son certainly did not do this on purpose but your glad everyone is ok. The rotation can or cannot be part of an alignment but it is only a 12 minute difference in price and usually included anyway. It only means switching the wheels from front to back. Pay her, and tell her that you are glad her car was not damaged worse. Cheap addition, and you would be doing the right thing, ok. If you say no. And she is in another incident, more trouble may follow. This stuff happens.
