Hi,

Unfortunately, this is not just one thing. There are a number of items that can cause this chime.

What we need is a scan tool that can go into the body control module and see if this is registering under the last chime monitor. This function is available in the OEM scan tool called WiTECH and I am not sure it is available in some of the others.

If we don't have this info then we will just be guessing. I am sure there are no codes but I have hear of this happening a couple times and one time it was the tire pressure system and the other it was the seat belt pretensioner. Clearly we don't want to guess so let me know if you can get access to this tool or a shop that has one. Thanks

You tire light being on is either telling you that you have a low tire pressure or there is an issue with the system. The chime that you hear is a warning system that is just trying to get your attention. It should not be going off like this especially if it happens when taking a corner. I suspect you have a wiring issue but we will need more info to be sure.

You are welcome. Please let me know what they find. If this last chime indicator is blank then we will need what is called a lab scope. Any Chrysler dealer can rent one of these from the OEM if they don't have one.

Okay. Just make sure you are checking your oil regularly if that light is coming on and it is accurate. If you get too low you will have engine damage.

Thanks for the update. Let us know if we can assist more. Thanks

Thank you, I will. I had been hearing ding for a week the light does not stay on. It comes on for a second and if you are driving you can't see it. I finally did.

That makes more sense. I was wondering why you didn't see if before but that explains it. Just in case you are not aware, that oil light is not a level sensor. It is a pressure sensor. To drop in pressure could be due to low oil but it could also be a failing oil pump or a faulty sensor. So we need to check the oil level. If it is low, fill it and see if the light comes on still. If not then you may be using too much oil so you will need to keep an eye on it. However, if it is not low or it does not stop after filling it then we need to get a mechanical gauge and put in where you can see it while driving, like tape it to the windshield. This will tell you if the oil pressure is dropping causing the light to come on or if you have a sensor issue.

Let me know what you find. Thanks

Okay, great. That is clearly the easiest and best option. Obviously just keep an eye on it and you will be good to go. You said you have a 4 cylinder so I assume that is a 2.4L. They do use a little oil but 2 quarts is not bad. Worse case scenario, just change your oil on shorter intervals and you will be just fine.

Thanks again for all the information That will surely help someone else that has a similar issue.
