1993 Chevy Van replacing heater core

I know a lady whose van needs a heater core replacement. She has a very low income (can't afford a mechanic) and needs someone to change the heater core. Is this something that I could do in my garage? I'm pretty handy with car repairs, but have never tackled something like this.

Not to big a project click on site at bottom of post ie. manuals and for $9.95 you will get Mitchell with all the 411 you will need.
