My engine light goes on what is my problem

Your engine light coming on could be any number of problems. The light is associated with your emission control system, all the sensors in the engine and transmission. It would be best to take it to a garage where it can be scanned a have it diagnosed from there. First check your gas cap, as a loose gas cap can set a code and turn on the light.
