I have a 1995 Chevrolet HD 3/4ton truck with a 454 engine and a 4L80E Transmission. Recently, my speedometer began to occasionally go "Haywire". The speed indication goes up and down, the gear shift indicator goes dim and when the engine gets fully warmed up, occasionally, it will not shift from first gear into the next gear. I suspect it may be one of the Vehicle Speed Sensors. I understand that there are two of them in this transmission. My question is: do you think it is one of the speed sensors and if so, should I replace both since I am going to be underneath replacing one anyway? They aren't that expensive and they look relatively easy to change. By the way, I changed the transmission fluid and the old fluid looks normal, no burnt smell or discoloration and there was very little small metals attached to the magnet in the pan. The transmission works great most of the time, that is, it does not slip, etc. Thanks
