Reversed battery

I accidently hooked up my friend's battery backwards. What could it have fried?

It is an '85 Chevy 1/2 ton with a 305.

Also, the altenator sent up a huge spark when both terminals were hooked up.

Good luck.

Tried, this happened almost a week ago. It turns over no problem, but we're getting no spark from the plugs so it won't start. After re-timing it and still not working, we replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, but to no avail. One of my other buddies thinks it's the ignition control module.

I've checked a couple of the fuses in the block inside the cab, but not all of them. Are there any inline fuses, or another fuse block somewhere that I'm not seeing?

*Edit* And what about the computer? Or were there cumputers on that old of a rig?

Start by checking all your fusible links maybe at the starter or within the batt. Pos. Cable or a power distribution and then check all the mini fuses.

Ok, it turned out it was the ignition control module, so we got the little beast running again.

Thanks for the help e40water12 and rasmataz!
