I did the compression test to get 1 on tdc and took off cap. Rotor seemed to be lined up with my old mark and at this setting it wil start but makes a bad tapping noise. I moved distributor back one gear and forward one gear and it justs cranks with little or no spark on both positions. Moving it forward and backward moves the rotor about an 1 inch. Is that about right or could I be missing a gear in between. Ypu said it could be 180 off. Is this still possible even though it will start. Thanks Dan
