I have a 96 chevy truck with a coolant leak somewhere. It seems to be somewhere around the water pump. I flet the hose at the water pump going to the lower radiator. The top that slides onto the water pump was wet. How can I tell it is the waterpump? This hose was just replaced last year.

Is it hard to change thid pump? It is a v8 silverado 1996.

Remove the drive belt. Thoroughly dry the area that is wet. Now spin the water pump in direction of normal operation while observing for the leak. Make sure the coolant in the radiator is full for this test.

Return with results and we'll proceed.
