While driving I hear and feel a tapping sensation on the gas pedal. I have never had this happen before what could it be caused by?

Inspect the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor, make sure it is securely bolted down.

Raise vehicle, put on stands, and inspect area near APP for loose shields/bolts.
This vehicle has no throttle cable direct connection.
