I recently had my alternator replaced. Since then, when I am driving on the highway, specifically doing between 70-80 mph, the engine revs up (the tac jumps from around 2,000 up to 3,000-4,000). This only happens when I am at that speed and not accelerating or decelerating, only when I am keeping enough RPM to keep my speed maintained. To me, it almost feels like the transmission is shifting down and it then revs up. As soon as I either let off the gas or press on the gas to speed up, it revs back down.

The TCM isn't showing any codes. However, we've never had it connected while driving when the problem actually happens. Trans fluid is good, no check engine light is on. A buddy of mine mentioned something about it could be a fuel filter or mixture problem? Would that make sense if it only happens at certain speeds? Thanks for the help!

I dont think its a fuel filter
replacing the fuel filter never a bad idea
I doubt its going to help in your problem
hook scanner and take it for a spin
as you check Data and tranny shifting
