I just had the front crank shaft seal and oil pan gasget replaced. Now my airbag light stays on so it's not working and the horn doesn't work. Also the steering isn't smoothe like it was and the 4WD light is flashing and it isn't engaging properly either. Like it doesn't feel like it is in 4WD (We got snow yesterday)
The mechanic took out the rack and pinion to get to the oil pan. Did he need to do this? Couldn't he just lift the engind by 2 inches? And if he was banging around the rack n pinion couldn't he have disengaged the sensor for the horn and airbag that goes up into the sterring wheel? Help! I feel so unsafe out there!

I know if the steering wheel is turned while the rack is out, it can ruin the clockspring. The horn and airbag wiring are routed into this! 4x4may be a wiring harness or sensor left unplugged. Possibly careless work.
