My Tahoe has recently began to have trouble moving in reverse and some times when you put it into drive. We have a leak in the transfer case. Do you have to manually fill the transfercase or is the transmission and the tranfercase all in one unit? I'm not sure what exatly caused the transmission to stop working properly. It worked fine one day and the next it wouldn't go into reverse it just revs up.

Can you please help me?

Thank you,
Carol

The trans and transfer case are seperate units and require to be filled seperately. However, the transfer case will not cause the vehicle to not go into reverse. When you try reverse, do you get anything from it? Also, when has the check engine light come on? Does 1st gear work properly?

Let me know.
