When going to start car it starts to crank stops for a second and then starts right up and runs smoothly. What can cause such problem

Check the spark plugs. It sounds like your cylinders are filling up with fuel with out a spark (at first). When this happens the raw fuel does not let the piston move. Liquids do not compress and this seizes the engine for a moment or two. This could bend a valve or worse snap the crank shaft. Be sure to replace worn ignition parts with A/C Delco ONLY - on your engine. If not you will be sorry.
