I have a 1999 chevy tahoe that gives me problems when starting. I have changed the spark plugs, wire rotor cap fuel filter. It cranks but it take a while for it to actually start. If I crank it to much then it starts to smell like gas. Could it be the central port injector?

Do you hear the fuel pump come on for 2secs when you turn key to run position if so check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump if not check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay
