While turning gently to the right at high speeds (>50 mph) which is common on high speed exit ramps, I hear a humming noise. It appears like tire noise, but only occurs while turning to the right. It is most pronounced while I am coasting or braking. If I accelerate, the noise dies down or goes away. It will occasionally make the same noise, but a lot less loudly when I coast down a hill.

Rear wheel bearings and seals were replaced (replaced bearing at the same time as the worn out seals), but did not correct the problem. All drivetrain fluid levels are OK.

Any ideas?

If the noise is coming from the rear, you may have a diff bearing going out or a problem with a limited slip unit. Does it have a LSD (limited slip diff)? Carrier bearings ca also make the same noise. If from the front check the left front wheel bearing. It gets more load put on it in a right turn

No limited slip differential.
Noise appears to be coming from the rear.

With the noise most noticeable while turning to the right, carrier bearing seems likely.

Any idea how much longer I may have (100 miles or 10,000 miles)? The noise started around 6000 miles ago, but has not gotten any worse.

I assume if the bearing fails totally then the alignment of the pinion gear will be off and the rear end could lock up and create more expensive repairs.

What is reasonable cost (parts and labor)?

Rear end was rebuilt at 117,000 miles will all new gears and bearings. Seems odd that this would go out again, but I have been doing some occasional heavy towing the year.

Price will really depend on if it is hurt and how bad. Sometimes you can resetehpinion and it is ok, sometimes it will howl. Really depends on what it looks like when its taken apart. Couldnt guess on how long it would last
