The past two times that I've driven my suburban on long drives it has stalled out on me while on the highway. Both times I was going 65-70 mph and the engine quit. It restarted both times after about 5 mins on the side of the road. No obvious electrical issues, it seemed like it was just starved of fuel - but ran fine afterward. On the roadside I opened the fuel cap and ran with it open - thinking some kind of vapor lock? Ran dry gas and higher octace gas through the system after first event, but it happened again. Any suggestions?

Hi
Assume no check engine light on? Have fuel pressure checked hard to diagnose with it starting right up. Does it die slowly? Or like the key was switched off? Maybe fuel pump?
Let me know
Thanks for donate

No check engine light. Dies slowly, not like killing it with the key. I thought fuel pump as well, but it works fine afterwards. Electrically and mechanically it runs fine, with the exception of stalling after a few hours of use.

If OEM pump as they age tend to have bearing wear causing pump to fail after extended driving. But the dieing slow does indicate fuel loss then the start right up is confusing.
Sometimes I think machines are smarter
