I have a chirping/squeking noise that starts as soon as I turn on my truck and rarely stops. I'm assuming it's the serpentine belt, I inspected the belt and it appears to be fairly new and in good condition. I pulled on it to see the tension, it isn't loose, matter of fact, it really has no play in it to move either way, I'm thinking it's too tight. I have a limited amount of money and would hate to have to replace the belt if it didn't need it. A few more specs on the truck 5.3L Vortec 4x4

The belt tension or has a Gage on it, the one line from the tension should be in between the two lines on the mount make sure it is within intolerance, if it is, remove the belt and check all of your pulleys for play. You can also spray some WD-40 on the idler pulleys while it is running And check them before removing the belt.

Thankyou so much, that is exactly what was wrong with it, the current belt as fairly new but the tensioners had stretched it out causing it to burn on the inside of the belt.
