2000 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
Driving through rain and flooded streets, car suddenly stalled and died. I pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and the vehicle would turnover, spit and sputter for approx 10 seconds and die. Engine would not respond to pressure/compression of gas pedal. Tried to hook my OBDII diagnostic tool up and kept getting an Error 0. Had vehicle towed to local mechanic who informed me the fuel pump was bad as indicated by service engine code and fuel pressure check. $1000 later, mechanic informed me the brand new $400 fuel pump worked great however, now the fuel guage is not registering. Absolutely no performance problems from this vehicle prior to sudden and abrupt stalling during rain storm. Is there an electrical short/cause to the fuel system malfunctioning and is the fuel level sending unit all part of a brand new fuel pump assembly?
