We drive the Suburban around town most of the time and have no problems with the Check Engine light coming on. However, when we go on the interstate and get it above 60 mph (this tends to happen when we are going up a hill), it shutters a bit and then the Check Engine light comes on flashing. Once we slow down it stops flashing and then we can go up to about 65 mph before it starts flashing again. After we get to our destination and turn it off, it usually takes another time of starting it up and driving it before the Check Engine light goes off. It will stay off again until we take it out on the interstate and get it above 60 again. We have tried to crank the gas cap down thinking that was the problem, but it doesn't seem to help. Since we don't get above 60 mph but 1 or 2 times a month, this hasn't been a problem, but I want to make sure we are not hurting the engine by not having it checked out.
