I bought a 'code key' device for checking my 'service engine soon' light. Didn't give much description for the following codes: P0141, P0700, P1192. I've been driving the '96 Suburban 1 or 2 times a week while trying to sell it (for last two years). Only want to do necessary repairs to keep it running and sell it. Any further details on the above codes and repair options would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Next time put the engine size in as it can make a difference on the codes. P0141 is a O2 sensor bank 1 position 2. That is th eone behind the converter on the right bank I think. P0700 is a transmission code, have a trans guy look at that most of the time there is no charge. The P1192 is a fuel metering problem that may straighten out if the O2 sensor is fixed. Or if the battery is bad in the vehicle it coul d set all of the codes. You really should have a pro look at it though.

The Sub has 5.7L Vortec V8 (gas) engine, and in 2005 I had the tranny rebuilt and upgraded to 480e w/added on inner cooler. So I don't want to mess w/the tranny code. But the battery is new as of Oct 09, replaced battery and fuel pump, from a Pep Boys Shop, odd how those are the other two codes. Thanks for your reply and I will shop around for a mechanic.
