When the A/C is turned on the compressor clutch engages for about 8 seconds and disengages. With the gauge set attached it pumps the low side down to about 15 lbs almost instantly then it takes it about 3+minutes to come back up to about 40 psi and the clutch will engage again for about 3 seconds and the pressure will again drop to about15 psi and the clutch will disengage.
I changed the orifice tube (it was plugged) and recharged the system and it still works the same as before
I've had this truck for 6 years and since I diidn't buy it new I have no history on it. The junk in the orifice tube looked like stop leak. Untill now the A/C has always worked but always about 40 degrees max. Any Idea where the blockage might be?
Thanks ---Ron
